Like everything else we do our trip to the Big City was yet another spur of the moment ordeal. I think we literally planned this trip a weekend before we actually headed out. We needed a birthday surprise for Mr. Worldly John and coincidentally Colombia was going to be playing in Copa America; it all seemed right so why not go for it! Well we gathered the crew and went on our way. Since everything was in such short notice we ended up booking a place to stay while we headed to the airport šŸ˜‚. It was insane our first night in New York we stayed in China Town in some kind of Hostel. By the way I didn’t even know what a hostel was before staying at this place but I soon came to find out everyone shared one bathroom. Overall it was a nice calm place. We didn’t stay for too long and quickly were back on the road. Apparently Mr. Worldly knew a guy who owned a strip club so we went to check it out. I could be mistaken I mean it was my first time in a strip club but I guess I expected to see girls dropping from the roof or doing some kind of extravagant show. However that wasn’t the case. The only show we got was one of the girls rubbing her boobs all over one of our friend’s face; apparently she gave the best massages whatever that means šŸ˜. Flash forward a few hours later we found ourselves out of China Town and in beautiful Astoria. We had an amazing spot a whole house to ourselves near the subway! You know what that means quick access to Time Square! I had never seen anything like it so many people, lights, and glamour. Everything was 10x bigger and brighter!

We made our way through New York checking out museums, bars, oh and you can’t forget the monuments or the Empire State Building. We definitely had some photobombed moments up there.

img_5259 The day finally came to go watch the big game! Colombia vs Peru! Everyone was super stoked. Especially me this was going to be my first time watching a live soccer game at a stadium. Not just any stadium the MetLife stadium. We quickly made our way to New Jersey and arrived just in time for some fun tailgating! The energy was wild great music, a lot of food, and plenty of alcohol whoot whoot! Somehow even though we arrived on time we still managed to almost miss the beginning of the game.

img_5258 What a freaking great game! The game ended in penalty shots. It was super close. Everyone was freaking out! Peru would go then Colombia each one making their shot…. and then finally Peru missed one of their penalties this was the moment for Colombia to come out a winner! He hit and he scored!!!!!!! Colombia won! Everyone in the stadium went wild! Man was that intense a very good intense. The celebration continued out to the parking lot for hours of nonstop dancing! Before we left New York we couldn’t leave without watching another huge game. It was our last night in New York and couldn’t miss the Cavs vs Warriors Game 7! There was so much hype we needed Bron Bron to win! Another close game! I felt like I was going to have a heart attack or maybe it was all the martinis. Bron Bron pulled threw and racked yet another championship! Needless to say the celebration continued through the night and somehow landed us in Biggie’s hood where we continue to celebrate with drinks! And that’s how we celebrated Mr. Worldly 26th birthday! Perhaps not the most conventional method but definitely a method that works for us šŸ˜‰! Check out the video link below šŸ‘‡šŸ»šŸ‘‡šŸ»šŸ‘‡šŸ»

Hi there, so we share the same name and love for this City- NYC. which is where I lived most of my life (well Queens) and now NJ. I happened to go to the FCB v Juventus game at Met Life (my son is an FCB fan) got there late and missed Neymar play… Boo-Hoo! I don’t think Mr. Worldly could have had a better birthday. Sounds like an amazing time, two games, a stay at a hostel in China Town (hmmmm… IDK about that) but I love Astoria as well… Also- I’m digging this font and I love the little collages you do on your posts. Keep up the good work! I’m not as adventurous as you and wasn’t when I was your age so I will have to (re)live those days vicariously through you.
